When should I activate my eSIM?
You can install the eSIM profile at any time before or during your trip. Data validity starts from the day you first connect in Japan.

Do I need Wi-Fi to install the eSIM?
Yes, you need a Wi-Fi or existing data connection to download the eSIM profile. We recommend setting it up at home before traveling — takes only 5 minutes.

Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes. Your device must be carrier-unlocked to use an eSIM from another provider. Most phones bought outright (not on contract) are already unlocked. If unsure, contact your carrier before purchasing.

Can I keep my home SIM and use this eSIM at the same time?
Yes! Most modern smartphones support dual-SIM (physical SIM + eSIM simultaneously). Keep your home SIM for calls and texts, and use this eSIM for Japan data.

Can I make phone calls?

How long is my QR code valid after purchase?
Your eSIM QR code is valid for 180 days from purchase. Data validity starts from your first connection in Japan — not from the purchase date.

Can I top up or extend my plan?
Top-ups are not available at this time. If you need more data, you can purchase an additional eSIM. Most devices support multiple eSIM profiles.
